Coordination Modes

The center point of an object specifies its location in 3D space. The object’s center point can be transformed through one of the three coordinate references: World, Local and View.

Using the World coordinate system means your object transformation takes effect in relation to the scene’s global space. The Local coordinate system means your objects are transformed in relation to their own local space. A third alternative would be the View coordinate system which transforms your objects in relation to the camera’s local space.
