Vakrido ~ Gacha is not a type of anime, it's Japanese in origin, yes, but it's just short for ‘gachapon', which is the onomatopoeia (sound word) for a capsule dropping out of a vending machine. In the West, it's mostly synonymous with a certain type of ‘character collecting' mobile game, most of which are anime-based, so that's probably where the confusion comes from.
